Moehringia diversifolia, locally known as popkoresa, is an endemic plant species, meaning it grows only within a specific geographical area.

The species was first recognised as a distinct plant at the end of the 18th century in the Baška grapa region, although most of its habitats are found in the Alpine world. It is considered a plant of European conservation importance.

A resilient and undemanding plant

Popkoresa grows up to 15 centimetres in height and blooms between early May and the end of July. It has five sepals and five white petals. The plant is highly resilient and undemanding, thriving in rocky soil, tolerating large temperature fluctuations, and requiring very little water to grow.

In the local area, popkoresa was discovered by the botanist Jurij Dolinar.
